Jan Vercruysse created a knife in collaboration with D&ALab.
A totally handmade object with a blade made of stainless steel and a handle made of two parts which consists in elongated tubes of different colors which are separated by an oxidized silver ring. The ring needing to be oxidized, it is impossible to polish the handle after the assembling process.

D&ALab was in search of the best materials and techniques. Each piece must be perfectly achieved. The glass cannot be blown nor dissolved. The elements are cut by water-jet from a Czech optical glass. This project is meant to equalize the perfect uniformity of industrially-made objects but with a crafting way of working.
